Dr. Busisani Sibiya is a South African academic, Chartered Accountant (CA(SA), and holder of a PhD in Taxation. He has been lecturing financial accounting to undergraduate students at the University of Johannesburg since 2013. His research interests centre on the “sandwich generation” – adults supporting both aging parents and dependent children – with a particular focus on the financial and emotional pressures this place on these individuals, and how employers, financial institutions, policymakers, and communities can intervene to ease this burden. Busisani is also a co author of the textbook “Fundamentals of Financial Accounting,” contributing to the academic resources shaping the next generation of accounting professionals.
